The Johanson family moved to South Florida in 1993. The decision to move was based on the weather and a more acceptable environment for our family, our son Timothy Johanson was born with a condition known as CP. Timothy uses a wheelchair for his means of transportation. Before moving to South Florida we lived in the Poconos, Eastern Pennsylvania. We lived in the woods and it was great. The winter season, lots of snow and nowhere to go. We made a big decision which would give us 12 months of the year in the Sun. There's a lot of places to go in Florida.
In South Florida there were no basements. Storage space was at a premium, small closets, wire racks, garages, no storage, a lot of wasted space. We purchased our first home in South Florida in Coral Springs. Our closets only had one row of wire, I could not believe it. Needless to say I checked out several companies and everyone had a different design (a pencil drawing). Estimates ran from $1,125.00 to $1450.00. I made my first closet in South Florida. It had four drawers and was 6' foot wide. I bought everything from a lumberyard and built it in my garage my cost was $650. Friends started asking me to do their closets because I was affordable. I started buying my material wholesale started a little shop in my garage and low and behold affordable closets was born. wire
